Not your typical Sumatra! This cup is incredibly complex with immense natural, unrefined sweetness and unique sticky fruit flavours. The classic earthy-ness of a Sumatran but with so much more. I feel so lucky to have got in on this lot, which was not even advertised and sold out lightning fast. Right place at the right time and all the stars aligned to get this one into the Observatory.
This coffee comes from a cooperative near Gunung Tujuh. The farms are located on the highland areas of Gunung Tujuh and Kayu Aro on Mount Kerinci – the tallest volcano in Indonesia!

*What is Cherimoya? Cherimoya is a tropical fruit that naturally grows in South and Central America. Also known as the “custard apple” it is smooth, sweet and creamy. “Deliciousness itself,” was how Mark Twain described the flavor of this luscious fruit after sampling its flesh. Cherimoyas are very sweet, like candy, and tropical tasting, with similarities to bananas, pineapples, papayas, peaches, and strawberries. This flavor combination has led some to compare it to the flavor of bubblegum. Botanists have considered it the finest fruit in the world, and Haenke was quite right when he called it the masterpiece of Nature.
