Each year at Daterra Farms they select the most outstanding, unique small lots of coffee that could never be replicated for their Masterpiece’s Collection. “The Hummingbird” is just that, a new and exciting varietal called Aramosa, using a experimental anaerobic fermentation technique in combination with natural processing to create a one-of-a-kind cup. You can even smell the exotic purple and pink flavours even before grinding as they radiate from the bag. A cup of this sweet nectar is sure to inspire the Hummingbird in You!
Aramosa is a pre-cultivar, meaning its genetics are still under study. Daterra has been studying Aramosa for many years with the Agronomic Institute of Campinas – and even has their own exclusive Aramosa selections! It is a cross between an Arabica coffee (for flavour) and a Racemosa coffee (for low caffeine). The lower caffeine content, at about 50% of typical coffee – think half caf!, means the beans are always taste very sweet, floral and without any bitterness.
